केंद्रीय सूचना आयोग (CIC) ने बड़ा फैसला सुनाते हुए कहा है कि Board of Control for Cricket in India यानी BCCI आरटीआई कानून-2005 के तहत “सार्वजनिक संस्था” नहीं है। आयोग ने साफ किया कि बोर्ड न तो सरकार द्वारा संचालित है, न नियंत्रित और न ही उसे सरकारी फंडिंग मिलती है। CIC ने कहा कि BCCI एक निजी संस्था है, जो अपने राजस्व का प्रबंधन मीडिया राइट्स, स्पॉन्सरशिप और टिकट बिक्री से करती है। यह मामला 2018 से कानूनी विवाद में था।
The Central Information Commission (CIC) has ruled that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) does not fall under the Right to Information (RTI) Act, 2005 as a “public authority.” The commission clarified that the board is neither run nor controlled by the government and does not receive government funding. CIC stated that BCCI is a private body that generates its own revenue through media rights, sponsorships, broadcasting deals, and ticket sales. The matter had been under legal dispute since 2018.
